DC DATA HUB
The Data Hub provides DC LEAs with tools, training, and trusted spaces to turn data into action!
“Their value or secret sauce is really this quick, reliable, accurate data that is granular. Don’t recreate the wheel, get the wheel customized for you.”
Patricia Brantley, Friendship Public Charter Schools
How the DC Data Hub Works
-
Access improved dashboards in a new, easy-to-use location; securely access the portal with your school credentials. Available to LEA members at all membership levels.
-
The portal will support generation of compliance data files required by the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), the DC Public Charter School Board, and the U.S. Department of Education, and includes automatic accountability checks that reduce administration time and ensure accuracy. Available only for LEA members at the Optimize and Transform levels.
-
Through predictive analytics and early warning systems, you can support students at risk of academic failure and learn if interventions improve student trajectories in real time. Available only for LEA members at the Optimize and Transform levels.
-
EK12-facilitated convenings and comparison dashboards help leaders detect patterns and gain insights from bright spot schools to identify new interventions and anticipate challenges. Data is anonymized, except for bright spots, to ensure that data is never used against you, only for improvement. Available to LEA members at all levels.
-
Trainings and network convenings will be part of a larger pathway aligned to EK12’s data rubric to help your LEA become data driven. All DC Data Hub LEA members gain access to convenings, while customized trainings are Optimize and Transform membership level services.

Membership Levels: Share, Optimize, and Transform
EK12 provides exceptional value to schools and LEAs, offering customizable, cost-effective services at lower costs than for-profit providers. To support partner DC LEAs at various stages of their educational data analytics journey, we have three service options for members of the DC Data Hub: Share, Optimize, and Transform.
Share
Collaborative Data Analysis for Educators
The Share level grants schools and LEAs access to participate in EK12’s data-sharing projects, gain insights from EK12 exclusive reports, and learn from fellow bright spot schools in the network.
What’s Included in Share
-
Access to interactive charts that help educators understand their own data in context by seeing data from peers across the city.
-
At live convenings after each data share, EK12 staff will review our sector’s progress and facilitate a panel of educators from bright spot schools in the data.
-
Virtual learning sessions are available for teams that are not able to attend convenings in person.
-
For LEA data managers who want to utilize data share comparison data in novel ways, we offer Share Plus membership. Share Plus LEAs gain access to the DC Data Hub’s anonymized comparison data for custom work with an additional $500 fee.
Optimize
Building Efficient Data Use
The Optimize level is designed for schools and LEAs with established internal capacity to advance data literacy and lead data analysis for teachers. This tier includes our data warehousing, dashboards, collaboration in the Bold Improvement Portal, and foundational training translating data insights into action for continuous improvement in education.
What’s Included in Optimize (everything in Share plus…)
-
Schools can select connections that meet their unique needs, ensuring access to a balanced data set. Premium and custom options are also available.
-
Includes options like one Student Information System, four assessments, one discipline system, and two SEL/wellbeing tools.
-
Available at an additional cost, these connections include systems such as Canvas Grades, SchoolRunner Grades, and intervention tracking.
-
Two annual in-person training sessions cover essentials like dashboards and data literacy; additional asynchronous training and DC Data Hub meetups are included.
-
LEAs can customize their package with an additional premium data connection, two extra standard connections, or one extra foundational training at no extra cost.
-
We communicate frequently to ensure our partnership delivers on your expectations.
Transform
Complete Support for a Data-Driven Culture
The Transform level provides the highest level of service for schools aiming to build an entirely data-driven and evidence-based culture. It includes all Optimize tools and expands further, delivering advanced tools and training, plus sustained coaching to develop strategies for improving student engagement in learning.
What’s Included in Transform (everything in Optimize plus…)
-
We co-develop a three-year plan with clear goals, milestones, and an implementation strategy for sustained efforts leveraging qualitative and quantitative data in education.
-
Based on an annual data-driven rubric, we provide multiple in-depth training sessions tailored to your team’s needs.
-
Our team offers support 3-4 times per month, including coaching, to keep your team on track with strategies for improving student engagement in learning.
-
Plans are adjusted annually or mid-year, as needed, to prioritize the most impactful actions based on data analysis in education outcomes.
